citizenship and social class

"   I have divided citizenship into three elements, civil, political and social. I have tried to show that civil rights came first, and were established in something like their modern form before the first reform Act   was passed in 1832. Political rights came next and their extension was one of the main features of the nineteeth century, although the principle of universal political citizenship was not recognized until 1918. Social right, on the other hand, sank to vanishing point in the eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries".

This section  because it talking about how society is divided in 3 ways. Also, how 1 element was used before the others and that there are rights that come with these elements. Finally, this section discusses the role they had on society for instance social rights weren't used frequently during the 18th and 19th century.

the reason why this passage was chosen was because the passage explains the roles each element had in time period. In addition, this section was chosen because this talks about what areas in time period  they were and were not used. To sump up, it shows that for each element there are rights that citizens had.

"What to the Slave Is the Fourth of July?"

In one section, it says, "I have said that the Declaration of Independence is the ring-bolt to the chain of your nation's destiny; so, indeed, I regard it. The principal contained in that instrument are saving principles. Stand by those principles, be true to them on all occasions, in all places, against all foes, and at whatever cost.''

This quote means that the Declaration of Independence is basically the goal of our country. The principal in the document is the key to making the country successful. Also, in order to make a country successful we have to follow the rules anywhere you are, any person you're with, and in any situation.

This quote was chosen because it shows that Fredrick  Douglass believes that citizens of the United States should follow the principles included in the Declaration of Independence to make the country succeed its goals.

The American Political System

According to "America Political System it says" The first three articles set up the basic separation of power between the Legislative, Executive, and Judicial branches of the Federal government . Many of the enlightenment thinkers like Locke or the French thinker Montesquieu (1689-1755) adopted similar frameworks for the division of power and it has become accepted as standard in virtually every government in the world.

Original, Legislative branch (the law-making part of government) was supposed to be superior. this was meant to place a  check on the power of the" king" and also to protect the private property" of individuals. The Executive branch which is charged with physically carrying out the laws is thus dependent on the Legislature for funding (it must get its permission more or less) and the power to raise taxes rests with the Legislature as well.

First of all, this passages means that when the government decided to established the constitution was because the government didn't have president, there was a congress of the confederation, and one branch instead of two and no supreme court. The thirteen states were separate each one had their own money, different rules on trade. The government was weak, ineffective and this was a very serious conflict. But when the government is broke up into three branches to balance the power such as Legislative, Executive and Judicial. Legislative branch purpose the bill and vote on them. If the bill is passed in congress(it the goes to the president ( the executive branch. If they veto it goes back to congress and judicial branch has to decide if they agree then the bill become a law. If the president veto the bill than the bill becomes a laws. The judicial branch has to made sure that the bill is constitutional.

the reason what I choose this specify text is because it explains the government structure and the functions of each branch. To add on this text explain each branch checks different branches power to see if the other had to much power and also explains the three branches help to maintains the amount of control the government has.

"Trans- National America"

According to Trans-National America from www.the Atlantic.com it says "the early colonists came over with motives no less colonial than the later. they did not come to adopt the culture of the America India. they had not smallest intention of giving themselves without reservation to new country. they came to get freedom to live as they wanted to. They came to scape from the stifling air and chaos of the old world. They came to make their own fortune in a new land."

the early European settles came over for the purpose but has nothing with diversity. they did not come to adopt the culture of the America Indian. They didn't want to use other cultures'  heritage and only did what they wanted. They also went to get away because they were tire of the old world. Also made money off of the him claimed land.

The reason what I choose this text passages because European came to America to live better live and made money. even though they didn't want  to adopt the culture, they just want. this is an example of when people come to U.S wants to follow their dream to have better education, good job and buy their own house.

Despite Negativity, Americans Mixed on Ideal Role of Gov't

This story is part of an ongoing series on Gallup.com on Americas' views on the role and performance of government. This passage show how Americans feel that  the government has too much power and a lot of regulations on business. also,  the majority of Americans says  on the Gallup interview that they are willing to pay less on taxes, than less services as there is now. If you can see now the small business is suffer of the inflation  because eve thing is increase. The rents is very expense, the taxes is getting more higher than ever, how the business can survive. The governments is trying to do multiples things that is moving in the wrong direction. American's recognize that the government has roles and purpose in society. the challenge for electing a leader is to determine which role and purpose is appropriated and which is not.

According to Gallup.com  Americans continue to name the government 18% as the most
important U.S problem, a distinction it has had for the past four months. Americans mentions of the
economy as the top problem(11%) dropped this months, leaving it tied with jobs (10%) for second place.

More people think that the U.S government is an issue, than those who think that those who think that the economy is a problem. Even though there problems like racism, education and etc..  The U.S top problems are the government, the economy, and unemployment. The economy is referred negative. people today are not as satisfy as they used to  because in 1999 71%  Americans were satisfied white in 2008 7% Americans 'were satisfied. 2/3 of American are still unsatisfied.

I choose the part of how the leader should provide American needs and strong leader who can encourage the society to believe in America. we need some one who makes strong decisions and thinks more about all classes instead of only benefits the rich.  We all parts of Americans so any thing happen to the U.S.A  we are going to suffer. So we have to protect our interests such as less taxes and better economic. If the government improve the economy as giving more opportunity to the small business to grow. For example, provide them more credits based on the money of each business made. Also, provide workshop to small and big business how to managed their business so they can do better. If we have more business open is  more jobs to offer to the community, we are going to see less people taking unemployment.
